These high-tech fabrics differ in their absorption, reflection and transmission of light. Thanks to a wide range of colors, ROMA Textile Screens, also known as vertical awnings, can be individually designed. Light colors reflect light and heat rays particularly effectively, while darker shades allow a better view to the outside. All Fabrics are easy-care, weather-resistant, quality-tested in accordance with ISO 9001 ff. and also highly tear-resistant.

Fabric types for your Textile Screens

Textile Screens from ROMA combine high functionality with modern aesthetics. They provide effective sun and heat protection and create a pleasant room climate without air conditioning - while maintaining the view to the outside. The opening factors of a Fabrics determine how much light and visual contact with the outside is possible - the higher the value, the more transparent the Fabrics, the lower the value, the greater the privacy, glare protection and darkening.

Thanks to different materials such as glass fiber, polyester, acrylic or special fabrics, they offer a wide range of design options, are weather-resistant, easy to clean and durable. There is a suitable solution for every building project and every requirement.

Glass Fibre Fabrics for vertical awnings

Fabrics are made of PVC-coated glass fiber yarn in a serge weave. They are designed for a long service life and are particularly easy to clean. Serge Glass Fibre Fabrics are particularly suitable for use in zipSCREEN.2 and therefore for zipper-guided systems.

Fabrics with a 10 % opening factor offer high transparency with reduced sun protection and low glare protection (fire protection class B1).

Serge 5% Fabrics ROMA Textile Screens
Serge 5 %

The standard fabric with 5% opening factor offers balanced and good sun/glare protection and transparency. Available in a wide range of colors (fire protection class B1).

Serge 1 % Fabrics ROMA Textile Screens
Serge 1%

Fabrics with an opening factor of approx. 1-2 % offer very good glare protection with reduced transparency. Particularly suitable for rooms with increased glare protection requirements (fire protection class B1).

Serge 0% Fabrics ROMA Textile Screens
Serge 0 %

This Fabrics has an opening factor of 0% and is particularly suitable for bedrooms or conference rooms where darkening and complete opacity are required (fire protection class B1). Light reflections and minimal light penetration are always possible via the zipSCREEN system. The maximum element dimensions are limited.

Polyester Fabrics for Textile Screens

Fabrics are made from high-tenacity polyester yarns that are pre-stretched - i.e. stretched before further processing - and fixed with PVC. This process ensures that the Fabrics retain their shape, do not warp and are also extremely durable.

Fabrics with a 5 % opening factor, textile look and feel offer balanced and good sun/glare protection as well as transparency (fire protection class B1).

Soltis Perform 92 Fabrics for ROMA Textile Screens
Soltis Perform 92

Fabrics offer the ideal compromise between thermal insulation, visual contact, glare protection and privacy (fire protection class B1). The maximum element height is limited.

Soltis Harmony 88 Fabrics for ROMA Textile Screens
Soltis Harmony 88

Fabrics allow good visual contact while providing thermal protection. It provides a good view to the outside, but little glare protection and privacy at night (fire protection class B1). The maximum element height is limited.

Soltis Opaque B92 Fabrics for ROMA Textile Screens

Fabrics meet the strong desire for glare and privacy protection, without visual contact to the outside. A good choice when darkening or opacity is required - e.g. for bedrooms or conference rooms. (Fire protection class B1). Light reflection/light entry is always available via the zipSCREEN system. The maximum element height is limited.

Soltis B28100 Fabrics for ROMA Textile Screens

Fabrics with fire protection class A2 (non-combustible) - without visual contact to the outside. When used in zipSCREEN systems, increased wave formation occurs in the edge area. The maximum panel width and panel height are limited.

Textile Screens made from Acrylic Fabric

The Acrylic Fabric is made from spun-dyed acrylic yarns and is completely PVC-free. By dyeing the fibers directly in the manufacturing process, the colors remain intense and resistant to weathering for a particularly long time.

The PVC-free Fabrics Twilight Comfort, for example, combines a pleasant textile character with effective summer heat protection and harmonious transparency. Thanks to its odor-neutral properties and the OEKO-TEX Made in Green certificate, it also stands for a sustainable, pollutant-tested solution with a high-quality appearance.

The PVC-free Acrylic Fabric offers glare and privacy protection, but no visual contact to the outside (no fire protection class). Shadow cracks possible, especially with light-colored fabrics.

What does the opening factor mean for Textile Screens?

A high opening factor for Fabrics means more transparency for your vertical awnings and more visual contact with the outside, but generally less glare protection. A low opening factor reduces transparency, but usually improves glare and privacy protection. At 0 % opening factor, no view to the outside is possible.

Which Textile Screens are suitable for more outward visibility?

Fabrics with a higher opening factor are particularly suitable for a better view to the outside. They combine pleasant sun and heat protection with harmonious visual contact with the outside. Typical ROMA fabrics for this purpose are Serge 10 %, Serge 5 %, Soltis Harmony 88 or Twilight Comfort 4 %.

Which Fabrics are suitable for strong glare protection?

Fabrics with a lower opening factor are particularly suitable for high glare protection. They reduce disruptive solar radiation and create pleasant lighting conditions in the room, such as the Serge 1% fabrics made of Glass Fibre Fabrics.
