ROMA relies on innovative logistics for factory transportation
In addition to its headquarters in Burgau, the Bavarian-Swabian system manufacturer for Roller Shutters, External Venetian Blinds and Textile Screens is building a new logistics hall on the nearby Scheppach industrial estate. In order to make the resulting factory traffic as environmentally friendly as possible, ROMA is investing in the first natural gas tractor unit from Mercedes-Benz. The Econic series vehicle was officially handed over last week.
"Environmental considerations played an extremely important role in the purchase," reported Werner Riedmann, Head of ROMA Logistics, at the vehicle handover. "Running on natural gas enables us to carry out the plant traffic between the production site in Burgau and the new logistics center in Scheppach with the lowest possible emissions."
In addition to making an active contribution to environmental protection, the Mercedes-Benz Econic has a lot more to offer: The low-entry concept enables ergonomic and health-promoting entry and exit, while the panoramic glazing ensures excellent visibility. Furthermore, the Econic is optimally equipped for frequent trailer changes and therefore perfect for distribution transport.
At the same time, the Econic offers an ideal advertising space for the new ROMA TV campaign, which has been broadcast on ARD, ZDF and Sky since September. The new ROMA CDL comfort and design slat, the main actor in both the commercial and the privacy and sun protection, makes the special vehicle a real eye-catcher.
